Down 2.6 pounds - 5 total and feeling better by the day

I have really struggled to find a "plan" that works for me. So, WW, South Beach, 17 Day Diet were all tried and while I always lost weight for a little while, I found things with each that were deal breakers. Eventually, that one thing would create such a barrier that I returned to my comfort zone....and the scale crept up each time. WW is a great plan, but the leader in my group was SO annoying to me. She was in her 40's and shopped in her daughter's closet!!! Plus, she was always going on and on about how much joy she used to get from eating wonderful food but lost that when she lost weight. HMMMMMMM, you should still be able to enjoy what you are fueling with. South Beach made me break up with pasta and even though I can't eat it every day, I do want to be able to have a little without feeling like I have broken the rules. And on and on and on.....
Then, I read an article about finding a plan that really works for YOU. They suggested looking at what had worked for you in the past, and what had been a deal breaker for you. Then, incorporate those things that worked into one big personalized plan just for me!! And I did.
And this week, I lost 2.6 pounds. My single biggest weekly loss in a very long time. So, I am going to keep on keeping what is working and tweak on the rest until it works too.
1. 30 minutes of cardio three times this week, hopefully four. I know that will mean getting out into the garage in the cold to make that treadmill work. And I am going to make that happen.
2. Keep increasing my water intake. I have pretty much given up diet soda, but I returned to the flavored mixes you add to water. I make a huge glass with ice and one of the flavors and find that I enjoy it as much as the Diet Coke.
3. Weight train my arms, chest and back x 3. I am going to wear sleeveless dresses on my August vacation no matter what!!!!
