The failed track work out

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Wed are track days. Now to go to the track I have to drive 30 miles to down town to meet up with people. The last two weeks everything worked like clock work.

I was able to go to meet my husband and do a weight work out with him and then head over to the track.

The track is not an easy place to get to and there is probably 10 parking spots. About 40 - 80 people show up for this event.

The past two weeks I got there an hour early (was able to get there before people got out of work)

Yesterday not so much.

I made it to one part of town to meet up with my husband and do a weight work out then I started my drive. Well I started about 20 min later than last week. I was driving thru down town PDX in the hight of rush hour. It took me 20 min to go 5 blocks! I thought I was in new york. (I'm a country small town girl for the most part) I don't like traffic at all!

Well there was no parking when I got there and it's not an easy place to 'block' to find a spot. If I found one it'd be blocks away. In the day light it wouldn't bother me in the dark um, ya.

So I left. I didn't stay. I bailed.

I got home and had a light dinner, and watched tv and a little 'me time'. Then about 8:30 I got up and did 45 min on the pre core. Gosh I LOVE THAT THING!!!!

I got the track work out schedule from my friend who went and I will be doing that tonight at a local school.

Now I had been going to the Rock n Roll party that they are having in town thursday night but after last nights town driving experience I think I'm going to pass on that. I will hear what the rout is soon enough.

and that's my morning ramble

I hate traffic too and it really can suck the life out of me. I'm proud of you for finding a way to make it happen after all of that!

Sounds like you still got a workout done.

Ah gosh I hate battling traffic, I feel for you!

Saw the flier for the Rock'n'Roll party, I hope you have a great time if you do make it down! I'm wondering if you can consider Max as an alternative to driving. Which school do you go to for the track workouts? The Galloway group uses Lincoln HS, and it was easy to get to via Max, if you can figure out the right timing.

You may not have done the track workout, but you didn't quit for the day. That's golden!
