Hidden Clues

Funny thing about blogs. I sometimes find that what I don't put in them, is just as revealing and illuminating as what is written. I recently wrote a love letter to myself. I wrote it spontaneously and from the heart with no pre-meditation of the topic. Lo and behold, when I reread it I was kind of amazed that I did not include my health accomplishments this year. The fact that I lost over 40 pounds and continue to exercise 5 or more times a week. All my love went to my personality and character - the inner me not the outer one. It kind of reveals what is important to me. Yes, I want to be healthy and look good - don't we all. However, what I value in myself is how I walk through the world. That I do it with dignity, grace and kindness and that is never dependent on a number on a scale. Somethings like weight and our God given appearance isn't always in our control but how I conduct myself during my stay on this planet is what counts. Just thought I would share the inspiration that came from what I didn't put in my love letter.

I think very much the same way. It is far more important to me the footprint I leave in the world rather than how deep that footprint is. I loved your love letter to yourself, I'm so glad you recognize the beauty that is Wendy.

What an awesome love letter! Your priorities are obviously not shallow ones, but values of great significance. Good for you!! I admire you greatly!! -Marsha

Yes, just after I wrote it, it struck me as different from some of the other love letters I saw. Then I figured out why.

Wow! Did you come to this revelation on your own? I never noticed this at all until you pointed it out! That's all the more reason to be proud of yourself! Very cool!
