Super Bowl Weekend Update

Monday, February 04, 2013

And another Monday has rolled around! This past weekend was Super Bowl weekend. Sat we did the same things we always do...coffee at Starbucks, get groceries (which were about $150 this week emoticon), stopped at the Korean store for some Bulgogi (thinly sliced and marinated beef rib eye), wondered around the Super Wally on west side of town. Plus I was looking for the Skinny Cow Divine Caramel filled Chocolates. I've only been able to find them at Wally and not all Wally's have them.

Then things a bit stressful. Hubby had a tint job done on his car a week ago this past Sat. well...it seems they were pressing so hard on the rear window, scraping the old tint off, that the rear window is nor coming up on one corner. That means the whole rear window has to come out and probably be replaced. So we went back to the shop that did thew work. Hubby called first and they said oh yeah bring it in...no problem. But BIG problem when we got there. The owner started giving hubby attitude. He had this punk air about him. He was like so what...not my problem..your car is like 30 yrs old..hubby is like...dude..it's a 1999! So the guy is like so what...don't care. I won't do anything for you. Hubby is steaming by now. He knows for a fact the window wasn't like that when we took in for the tint. After they did the tint they told us NOT to touch the window for a week, then hubby could clean it, which is how hubby discovered the window popping out. I went to the car to wait...it was getting stressful. Hubby had told the guy...I know the car is older...met me half way...I pay 50% of the cost to replace the window and you pay 50%. And tint the new back window too. The owner came all unglued...saying there was no way..he couldn't make money that way...etc. So hubby came back to the car and we started to leave. The owner came out and stopped us. It seems hubby told him he was going to rate him and the tint place on Yelp. The guy didn't want a bad review. After trying to talk hubby out of the Yelp thing, he told hubby he'd call him this week to talk more about it. In the meantime I was on my phone checking Yelp (we should have checked them out before we took the car there) the place had a few good reviews nut also some pretty bad ones. I don't know what's going to happen next, but I do the window does need to be replaced. We'll probably have to pay for it ourselves. emoticon

Sunday rolls around and we're all set to watch the Super Bowl. We went for coffee and then found my Skinny Cow candy at the Super Wally near us. I bought 10 boxes of those things! emoticon So it'll be a while before I run out (I eat 1 package a day, in the afternoon.) Hubby was working on the race car so I decide to help him out by cleaning the pond pump /filter. It really needed it. But for the last yr the pump has been acting up, Hubby knows this. He kept saying he was going to get a new,,as son as he could afford it. Well..with a race car you never can afford it! So I wasn't going to turn the pump off..just clean a round it and change out the brushes that catch the big stuff (leaves and things) I must have jarred the pump, cuz it stopped working and wouldn't restart. Hubby had to jerry rig a smaller pump and it's not bigger enough, so the big falls is running to circulate water for the fish. In the mean time...guess who is paying for the new pump? Yep...ME. Of course hubby will "pay me back" but ladies..we KNOW how that one ends,. Good thing I love the man! emoticon

So now I have to shift money around my accounts and deposit the last of the money from selling my car (I got the rest Sunday..before the whole pump thing). Then I can pay the bills that the money for the new pump was going to. Did I say how much II LOVE my sweet hubby? emoticon

Then we watched the Super Bowl. It was OK...my team wasn't playing (Go Seachickens!). The lights out thing was funny, I wasn't impressed with Alica Keyes Star Spangled Banner, And the half time show was...just OK. The commercials this yr weren't that good, although I played along with the Coke one (I voted for the bus full of Showgirls). One thing...I ate a LOT of crap! Some tater chips, some bourbon chicken bites, ranch dip, black olives, and a 1/4 of a pizza. Pizza kind of sucked though..it was a frozen one. So I'm up weight wise today...but I think that's due to the salt content I consumed yesterday! emoticon emoticon

Oh and we bought a new Crock Pot!

OH OH...Happy Birthday to my Mother In Law, Malia..she's a spry 90 yrs old today! emoticon

That's it for me...I hope this first Monday of fed was kind to you all!

I guess you just need to look at the car your child, since you and Chuck were done raising kids. You KNOW how expensive it is to raise kids these days (rolls eyes...) (If I were sitting there in Boulder Station having coffee this would be a different conversation! LOL) Glad, however, that you survived the whole ordeal and the weekend. Still, you just kind of feel violated, don't ya? Love & Hugs, Calen~
