Belly, Belly Go Away!

Everybody has their problem area...

I know for some of the ladies in my cast, it was their arms...
My mother isn't particularly fond of what she calls her "chicken legs"...

You want to know what mine is?

MY BELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate it. Okay, I don't hate it...I dislike it greatly. It is really the only place on my new body that I am not happy with. Granted my belly isn't what it used to be, in fact, I have loose skin there from the weight loss. But it haunts me on a daily basis, and when I look in the mirror all I see is BELLY. I swear, if I had money for lipo, I'd get it. Belly fat is the HARDEST to get off and I'm at a loss of what to do for it. I've looked up articles on Spark, but they don't seem to offer much.

Any suggestions SparkBuddies? Am I doomed to have this belly forever? I don't mind wearing spanx, but every dang day?

I hear sprinting intervals helps target belly fat, and grapefruit also helps

It will get better for sure, but in cases of losing a lot of weight the only thing that really helps is the surgery...
One of my friends has the same issue and I keep telling her to see of it as a prize and a constant reminder of how far she's come.

I have a belly too, but it's basically just loose skin. There's nothing I can do about it. Toning your abdominal muscles can only take you so far...it won't tighten up loose skin, unfortunately! As best I can tell, you can either have the skin surgically removed or learn to accept it. As far as belly FAT, the only thing to do is keep getting your cardio to burn fat/lose weight, if you haven't reached your goal weight yet. :/ This is the sucky side of losing weight - you work so hard, but your body STILL isn't the perfect bikini body you wish you had! (Or maybe that's just me...) Anyways, it doesn't really matter that much, right? As you say, there are spanx! :) And better to have loose skin and a bit of belly than to be all kinds of overweight again! Maybe we should think of our belly skin as a symbol of our victory! :)

I follow this lady on FB and she is a fitness model. She has 4 (or is it 5?) kids and she swears by a gallon of water and lots of green tea everyday, plus really clean eating....and her stomach is super tight and flat.... I've had two kids and I am determined to achieve the same results, I've heard body weight exercises and metabolic training will achieve it, but I'm working very hard at it. There are some core exercises as well, but from what I've read so far, it is really hard work and lots of patience.... We'll see lol....

Awesome blog!!! Thanks for sharing emoticon

My problem is my belly if I lean over! Being in my mid 40's all of my skin is losing it's elasticity and it just kind of hangs. I'm with everyone else here; I'd like to just be able to tighten it up. Lipo won't do it for skin, but I wish I could just tighten it all up. I wouldn't mind putting "the girls" back where they used to be, too! emoticon

I guess we need to focus on our improved health and energy! (At least I can tell myself that!) Hang in there ladies!! Maybe we can get a group discount for a body makeover? emoticon

I wish I had an answer. My belly and my bat wings would be the things to go... IF I had money for surgery, lol! I don't know how people lose a ton of weight and then look like they had a tummy tuck, even when they didn't. I'm chalking it up to good genes!

I have the same issue. My belly is atrocious and it is now out of proportion with my trimmer body. I pray that there is something that can be done about it besides surgery. When you find the magic, please let me know.

When I was little, I would giggle away at funny little rhymes like jelly belly. It's not a laughing matter anymore. That is my problem area too, but with the surgeries I've had, I'm not sure there is much I can do but learn to accept it. At least my scars are not as pronounced as they one were.
