Just for Fun

Monday, February 04, 2013

Several years ago, I started racing my kids across parking lots (after checking for traffic). I would sometimes let them tie or win, but I could easily beat them until I broke a toe and had to stop running. Now my son is almost 12 and he has gotten so fast, I can't even come close to his sprint pace. And while his main love is football, he's wanting to improve his speed... today he starts practice/tryouts for his school's track team!

Racing mom sounds like fun. The kids and I used to race with the carts. Got lots of dirty looks. Guess we're not supposed to do it in the store. emoticon Oh Well!!

Well, he didn't make the track team. Rec center flag football starts soon though, so he'll keep himself active enough.

Hmmm, I totally see good parent role model and inspiration here!
This is what we want to be for our Granddaughter. I love school track teams and support local schools. I was shocked to hear the University of Tampa had to fund raise for run gear! I'm looking to see what Palm Harbor U, Dunedin, and Countryside High Schools are doing for fund raising. Wish your son cool runnings!
