Little by slowly

Little by slowly is my new favorite phrase. It has officially made it up on the bathroom mirror for the week. It means that i don't need to have crazy diet plans or crazy exercise plans. The best progress is a little at a time and slowly. As long as i'm doing better than I was last week in some small way i'm still on my path.

Last week my eating was not perfect. I really sabotaged myself on saturday. Saturday morning i went and did cardio for an hour. I burned like 600 calories and then came home and rushed back out to do something with my sister. I only had a greek yogurt (like 80 calories) because i didn't make time for myself to eat breakfast. So naturally by like 11:30 I was starving!!! I didn't give my body enough fuel to burn after that intense cardio. I ended up eating some grilled chicken and veggies with sis and that still wasn't enough. My hunger was insatiable!!! So then eventually by 2 or 3 i had eaten a huge hot dog with my bf and then that night i had a burger and small fry. The hot dog and burger were off my meal plan for sure....but because i'm more in tune with my body i know exactly why i went off plan. I know what to do to prevent that in the future. Little by slowly i'm getting there :)

I love that phrase - little by slowly. I think I'm going to use it too. Last night I certainly needed to be reminded that the little things will add up to big things. I just have to keep going.

I love your motto! Little by slowly is so going on a post-it in my bathroom this week- I also felt frustrated that my weight loss was only -0.2 this week AND I definitely made the same mistake on Saturday as you- I had breakfast and then I was super busy until dinner when I totally over did it! My total for that day was something like 2,400- however, when you think about it... it's not these one off days that got us to this place. It's that we'd have a day like that, feel discouraged and just throw the next day as well. Then is spirals out of control. When we are able to forgive ourselves the next day, then we know we've made progress emoticon

No breakfast is definitely huge for me. Whether it's true or not, the trainer at my gym told me that eating breakfast sends a hormonal trigger to your brain and that without that, you tend to get munchie/hungrier at night. For me, it's totally true--whether it's a hormone thing or not. No breakfast = pleeeeeease I waaaant to eat the can of whipped cream :(.

You can do it :) You're amazing. AND! You're under 300! WOOHOO!

Yes! Crazy diet and exercise plans may work "well" temporarily, but the only healthy way to lose weight and keep it off is by making changes to your lifestyle that you can stick with permanently! You are doing a great job figuring out what works for you and discovering your triggers.

That is wonderful that you realized when you went wrong. Fixing it will not be such an issue then! And you are right to congratulate yourself on the small things. As long as you keep improving yourself, you are headed in the right direction. Keep it up! emoticon

How very wise you are becoming...there is no quick fix. I found myself that if I incorporate these new healthy habits like eating breakfast (which I never liked) I am setting myself up for success for the rest of the day.
