New snazzy walking shoes...on a budget :)

Sunday, February 03, 2013

So, a little sore today after the long walk yesterday and I know part of the problem is that my shoes are worn out and just not cutting it anymore. Decided to check out Fred Meyer's because they had a good sale going on plus another $10 off coupon and since I live on a budget(being a single income family) figured I would go look and see what I could find.

After yesterday being 51 and sunny and beautiful, last night the fog rolled in and it got cold so today was not a great day for walking but I was determined to get in at least a short walk before the Super Bowl started. Found some good Fila walking shoes at Freddie's that were on sale and since I got my daughter some new shoes on clearance, got an extra $10 off. Her shoes were normally $55, got them for $19 and mine were normally $45 and I paid $25 and we were both happy.

Shopped really fast for groceries, and made it home in time to get in a 20 minute power walk before the game started. I really like my new shoes, they make a big difference on my right knee that I hurt a few months ago and then we got home and had air popped pop corn and healthy garlic parmesan wings for Super Bowl food. The wings were not perfect, higher fat than I usually allow, but it was my splurge for the week and the wings were DELICIOUS!!! emoticon This was waaaaaayyyyy healthier than the food I had last year and I still loved it and am proud of myself! I planned ahead and made sure that I had some yummy food that did not blow the calories for the day.

I also got our taxes done and filed so all in all it has been a good day. And my husband is on the mend and feels better but now my son is feeling icky so thank God I stocked up on medicine a few months ago!
