February 3, 2013 MAKE TIME FOR GOD

There are things we do without thinking. We have done them so many times we just really don’t have to think about them. However, there are other things we have to make time for. We don’t always do them regularly but we do them when we can. One thing we need to do is make time for God. He should be first in our lives and we need to intentionally put Him first every day. We need to go to Him in all we do. We need to go to Him in spirit allowing His Spirit to work through us. We need to trust and obey Him moving forward with what He leads us to do.

Ephesians 5:17 “Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”

Dear Lord, help us not to act thoughtlessly today but to know what it is You want us to do. We have got to stop doing things without thinking. We have got to start making time for You. You have a plan for us. You have a reason for our being here. Help us today to remember to take time for You. Help us today to stop doing the things that keep us from You. Help us today to put You first in all we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

List some things you do without thinking. Ask God to help you think more about Him and do His will.

When we go about life without really thinking, without intentionally living for God, we aren’t really getting anywhere.

Acting thoughtlessly is against what God tells us to do. He wants us to find out His will and do it.

Roman’s 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)
