Well it’s a little sad that I haven’t written a blog since June of 2012! But I’m sure some of you have figured out I’m not much of a blogger.

2013 is getting off to an okay start. 2012 was the Year of the Backslide. I started this journey in 2009 at 253 lbs, managed to get myself to 210 by June of 2011, and now I’m back at 238 as of this morning. So yeah 2012 was painful. But it was also my year of my biggest fitness accomplishments of my life! Did a half marathon in May and then participated in Portland to Coast in August. Kind of got taken out with a nasty case of Plantar Fasciitis and allowed it to sideline me from August to January. Basically I only did Yoga during those months.

But those days are in the past and its time to get back on track. In January I lost 4 lbs. Managed to track all my food about 27 out of 31 days. Got in 741 minutes of exercise, which is dramatically better than the previous 5 months. And last night I tried to go to water aerobics, but got to the local pool and it was closed for a swim meet. So I had about 2 seconds where I considered just coming home, eating dinner, and vegging for the rest of the night. Instead I turned the car around, came home, changed my clothes, and drove to the gym and worked out. This alone is a huge mental improvement, so I think I may be back on track. I plan to kick this plantar fasciitis in the butt!

I’m branching out in other ways in my life as well this year. I’m going to start a page on Facebook to promote all the great crafts that myself, my friends and family make. I’ve learned to make soap, body scrub, and dutch oven bread in the past few months and I have lots of talented friends, so this should be fun. I’m doing a Farmer’s Market all summer as well. My family’s big trip this summer is to drive from Oregon to Alaska. We decided going to a location that wasn’t blazing hot during late June would be a nice change of pace from our last two trips, Yosemite and Yellowstone. 2013 is going to be a vast improvement over 2012!

Well it’s the weekend, it’s sunny and I have lots of chores to do! Hope you all have a great weekend.

    Glad you are back on track and moving forward. I have been there - done that - so many times. One thing to keep in mind is that while you gained back SOME of the poiunds you lost, you did not gain them all AND to top the success of THAT, you did NOT quit, AND the pounnds you put back on didn't get the chance to bring MORE friends along with them when they returned.
