My Scale is Stuck!

Saturday, February 02, 2013

I apologize for my absence, my Spark friends. I’ve hit something of a “slump” and I find myself very sullen when I think about it. I’ve still been exercising and tracking my food. But I can’t seem to lose any more weight. I’m hovering between 166lbs and 165lbs and I just can’t get the scale to drop! It’s been like this for two weeks… going on three. I’m getting very discouraged!
I skipped my workout for the first time last night. I haven’t been giving myself any rest days since I started three weeks ago, so I figure a little slack wouldn’t hurt. I’ll be back on the exercise wagon tonight.
I’m wondering (in a desperate, hopeful kind of way) if it’s possible that I’m gaining muscle and that’s why the scale isn’t moving. Is it possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time? I know that sounds silly. Obviously that’s how it works. But I mean, does that happen to the point of the scale not moving? My pants are fitting better, and I feel slimmer (not quite slim enough for anyone to notice though) so I feel like I’m doing the right things… I just want to see the scale move!

Hey I am in the same boat. The answer to your question is yes. And muscle weighs more than fat . I have the same feeling you do I feel slimmer but no one notices, but it is a good feeling. I think it is our body telling us it is making good changes. Hold on it will begin to move . And getting enough rest is important too. emoticon
