Month One: January 2nd - February 2nd

I did it! I've held the promise I made to myself for one month. I'm eating healthier (loving fish right now), I've started attending the gym (just elliptical), and I'm seeing results (my favorite). So here's what I've accomplished in month one:

* A 17 pound drop - granted, I weighed myself twice this week, but I'm taking it!
* 3.5 inches off my waist, and everywhere else SP has you measure, but I don't think you need those details.
* a better sleep schedule - I was taking melatonin to sleep and haven't in three weeks
* working out increases my endorphins - seriously. I was so frustrated leaving work yesterday and I realized when I left the gym I had almost completely forgotten that feeling.

I'm also starting to understand the balance of food, but it's still not easy. I am learning awesome substitutes that help make me feel full, satisfied, and within my calorie range, which also makes me feel accomplished. And SP isn't kidding about the 5 servings of veggies throughout the day... those are some of the best substitutes I've made! Having carrots instead of crackers, using lettuce instead of bread, and spaghetti squash instead of pasta, are just some replacements, which terrified me at the thought, but in execution are delicious.

So despite some super down blogs, which also is a great help, I'm feeling accomplished and - dare I say it - proud of my first month. I like the optimistic side of this.
