Exercise which made me feel young

We went to a local roller skating rink today. I don't think I have been roller skating in thirty years. It took a good half hour to get my balance back, overcome my fear of looking like an idiot, and remember that you can't skate if you don't pick up your feet. But as I kept getting out there, it did come back to me and three falls later I was actually starting to feel like a kid again. This body is sure out of shape but at least I was able to get out there and play. One of my teens said (and he meant well) "Mom, you are inspiring other people because you are the only overweight person out here skating!" I guess he didn't call me old. This is a monthly event held at the roller rink so maybe by March 1st I will have some more weight off and my legs will retain the memory of how to skate!

I sure wish I had appreciated that healthy body when I had it.
