Well, it has been 2 months since Kayla, my 9 year old daughter, signed up with a talent agent and she has only been on 1 audition.

I know it takes time and this is not a busy time for acting/ commercials etc and there was christmas holidays in there and all but I really hope she gets some more auditions soon.

She has been suggested for probably 15-20 things between print ads, commercials, a Drake music video (though I suspected right from the start that they were NOT looking for little white girls...they just asked for kids that played soccer!), a student film and a couple of TV shows but she only got the one audition so far.

I tell her every time she gets 'suggested' for a part because I want her to know how hard it is to actually get an audition. I feel that teaching her how to deal with disappointment at this age wil help her in the long run with life in general. So far she is dealing with it well.

I think she needs more experience and confidence to be an actor- which is what she wants....but it is hard to get the experience! Not like you can really go out and take a course and call it experience...because in reality it is not experience until you actually do a commercial or a shoot etc...

I just hope she gets something least an audition to help with her experience and confidence during the auditions.
