Just Bought a Bodymedia LINK

Thursday, January 31, 2013

I love gadgets. I have been using a Garmin Forerunner for about 5 years now and love it! I love that it tells me my pace, distance, HR, etc. etc. When I look down during a run and see my pace has dropped off, I am motivated to increase my speed. I calculate my calorie burn for almost all my in-gym cardio using the HR monitor on the Garmin.

So, when I saw that Sparkpeople would sync with the Bodymedia, I started reading the reviews about the Bodymedia. I also love the Biggest loser and am slightly ashamed to say that "as seen on Biggest Loser" totally reeled me in. So in an impulsive moment on Monday, I 1-clicked and my box showed up yesterday.

Last night, I set up the online account, downloaded the app for my droid and started toying around with how this thing works. So far, the interface has been easy. I have it on my work and home computer. The droid app works fine.

I wore the thing to bed last night (I'm sexy and I know it!) and it didn't bother me at all. It did say I only slept for 5 hours and some minutes. I'm not sure about that. I was in bed a lot longer but regularly have interrupted sleep. So, we'll see about that in the coming weeks.

So far the only negative I have found is that it takes a LONG time to charge through the USB port.

I am going to the gym after work tonight (or during work this afternoon) and will see how it does with "vigorous activity".

More to follow..
