It's been a while since I posted a blog. It's been a whirlwind seven months since my husband underwent emergency surgery for ruptured diverticulitis, then ultrasounds and tons of blood work to determine why his spleen was enlarged, vertigo and finally the reversal of his colostomy. Never knew I had to become a nurse, and worse of all, not get paid for it (ha! ha!). Now I am giving shots to the belly. He formed a blood clot after this last surgery and back in the hospital he went, the treatment is a filter to block the clot from getting to his heart and lungs, along with the shots for about five days and coumadin. Thank God, the doctor found it or my darling husband would not be with us.

Well, you can only imagine. Yes, I forgot about me. Hospital food, yuk! Not the healthiest eating habits in the past two weeks. I did try to get movement in by little things like parking further away and walking back and forth on the floor. While I was on a roll with tracking, it completely went by the wayside. My old habits came back. But I won't be defeated. I'm getting myself back on track. It's so hard, but I CAN DO IT. I Need to do it. I WILL DO IT! Staying positive is my best motivation.

It's so easy for those old habits and practices to re-appear. I know first-hand how easy it happens. Well, it's past now and time for you (and me) to move on and make the most of the days ahead. Best to you...I know you will do it now! Sure hope your DH continues to do well, too. Mine also has a filter and has to take coumadin. When he had his shoulder surgery last May he was also on the shots in the belly, but thankfully that is all past now, too! Hugs and love, Jeannie
