Chips and candy

Thursday, January 31, 2013

I've found that totally denying myself all candy and chips is actually counterproductive at this point. Once a week I make a trip to town for shopping. That is date night with my hubby and also my treat day. One hot fudge sundae from TCBY is very easily put into my calorie may not be as healthy as other stuff, but it satisfies that desire for something good. Other days I will choose to have a bag of chips on the way home to's usually late when we get home and driving in the dark isn't easy for me. I choose regular potato chips because of the potassium they contain. It does help my legs.

So none of that stuff is actually in my house (and will not be found there again), but I've found I do better and stay on track if I can have a treat. I suspect that it will become an every other week, then monthly, then who knows situation over time. But my cravings during the week are seriously diminishing and I'm feeling very satisfies with my diet. I enjoy all the veggies, lean meats and baked potatoes. That's very satisfying to me.

Very good idea might have to try it, still can't keep all the bad stuff out of the house... emoticon
