A 2 Mile Walk, Dining Out & Exercise

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Today was another successful day for me. My fiancé and I went for a nice walk today in this beautiful, unseasonably warm NJ weather. We went to the post office and did a little bit of other walking around. It was a nice 2 mile walk.

We went and had a lunch date. It was my first time dining out since starting my healthy lifestyle. I have to admit I was a little nervous but I feel I did really well. To drink I ordered a water with lemon (yay to no soda!) and ordered a lunch combo. Half a turkey sandwich with no mayo, a lunch sized house salad with dressing on the side (that I barely touched anyway) and it came with french fries. I am proud to say that I didn't eat a single fry. I did however share the chocolate chip cookie my fiancé ordered. That was my one splurge for the week and I will not feel guilty about it. Moderation is key right?

Now it is the end of the day and I see that my lunch and one splurge didn't put me over any of my ranges. As a matter of fact I am on the low end of my calorie range. Good job Amy. emoticon

I even got a good workout in and I felt amazing after. I love the feeling that exercise gives me.

All in all, it was a great day.

I try to preview restaurant menus online and plan my meal before I go, try that, it might take the nerves away. I just blogged about a bunch of dinner commitments I had this week and doing this helped me survive the week.
