Injury :-(

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Tweaked my knee while running a week ago and only did 2 light workouts for that period of time. Knee is still a little off but feeling much better, went for my weekly 5 mile run around Miramar Lake and hit the same time I've been at all month (46 minutes). That was a good confidence boost since I feel like a lazy slob when not working out and ate way more than usual this past week. So the weight came up a little but it shouldn't stick. Bought some "fat burning" gum which sounds a little ridiculous to me but I chew gum compulsively anyway and it was on sale, something about black pepper flavor being an appetite suppressant, whatever we'll see. two and a half weeks until 10k, must return to workout schedule.

I used to run a loop around a place out west (Vancouver) called Deep Cove. Running there always took me 30 minutes and then 50 on the walk back. I couldn't beat it! Finally, I changed my music playlist to a faster set... 28 minutes! Maybe think of little ways, like this, that will help you ease into a faster run if that's what you're going for. I hope your knee keeps strong!
