Ugh… Not one more time…

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

We worked in the bathroom last night. We’re literally thisclose to being finished and ready to paint. The walls need to be scrubbed down to get the residual glue off of them. Then it’s onto patching the holes, there seems to be a lot of them, and paint! Thank goodness!

So I’ve been reading other peoples blogs. It seems that they’re writing about how everything is great in their lives, great in their weight loss and fitness journeys. I wish I could write about those things too, so I will try to get on the bandwagon and find something positive to write. At least once a day. That’s reasonable right?

So for today, I am happy to report that Rachael and I got up at the ass crack of dawn (5 a.m.) and was at the gym by 5:30. We got in a half hour work out and then it was back home so she could get ready for work. I took a nap. I usually have an hour before I have to get ready after we get home from the gym.

Toby was also a good little puppy. Since we’ve been going in the mornings, twice a week, we just leave Toby out of his pen instead of shutting him away. He was a sleepy little puppy. We got up, got dressed and as we were leaving we told Toby to go to bed. He did. When we got home an hour later, he came running out of our bedroom, where his bed is, all excited and half asleep.

He was cautious though before he saw that it was us. He’s turning into a real dog! He came out ears slightly back and ready to defend his home if he had to, but he saw that it was his Mamas and he was a wiggly butt then. It was really cute.

Recently the news published a report about how some people are becoming jealous and depressed because they're seeing so many good posting and few negative postings online from their friends. Like someone posts vacation pictures on facebook or talks about successes at work on twitter and others read it and believe since all they hear is good things that everyone else's life must be better than theirs. It's just not true. Every single person has struggles, but some people prefer to post the good and avoid the bad because they want people to think their lives are great and/or that they don't think friends want to hear the bad. So don't get too down on reading a lot of 'things are great' blogs, because it's not the entire picture. There are a lot of people who have a few bad days and instead of posting they just disappear.

But think about this... right after you wrote that you want to post good things, what did you write? You got up early, went to the gym, and that you're proud of your puppy. How is that not good things? So what if you can't say that you lost a ton of weight, reached a major goal, or had something happen perfectly? It's not going to happen often, which is why it is so much more awesome when it does happen and you can post about it. The little victories and small accomplishments are what give you to those bigger goals, so be proud of them! If you never did the small things, you'd have no chance at the bigger goals. Be proud of it all!
