The gym... cue Jaws theme.

Lets start this blog with some awesome news! I've kept those 3 lbs off for a whole week! Rather proud of that. :D

Growing up my parents always kept me in sports. I played softball for 15 plus years, was a cheerleader for 8 (though I usually loath to admit this), and my grandparents gave me the wonderful opportunity to horseback ride for 13 years. I miss being active in this manner. Well an old co-worker of mine from the waitress-ing days approached me and asked if I'd like to join him for a co-ed league of softball. This of course won't start until spring, but we are both incredibly out of shape.

His motivation is the police force. His job requires him to stay in shape and he's gone soft lol. My motivation is pure vanity (My job certainly doesn't require it, but my health does). So to help us prepare we've begun meeting on week nights to throw the ball around, run sprints, and get back in the game. Tonight we meet up to join a gym together.

In my last blog I mentioned that I hate having to exercise with no purpose. It's boring. Well now not only do I have a partner in crime, so-to-speak, but I have a purpose. To be part of a team again. When spring hits, hopefully I'll be ready. I'm incredibly excited.

If anyone has any ideas for some power music please feel free to share. Thank you everyone for your motivation and encouragement during this journey.

I hate the gym as well but I have worked out lately at Curves even with another person staring at me the whole time I was working out. This was a pretty unnerving experience but I got through it because was able to focus on what is important to me and that is my health. emoticon
