Day 30...

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I have to get better at blogging regularly. Days 28 and 29 just disappeared, and that is not helping my goal of being mindful.

Sunday was a crazy productive day for me, which would surprise most people in my life. I got up early, did laundry, worked on homework, cooked chicken for the week, made hardboiled eggs for my lunches, ran errands and went to the gym. And that was all done by 2. Then the day kind of went awry. I was slicing sweet potatoes to bake and sliced my thumb. It hurt so bad, which made the rest of the day pretty useless. I didn't need the ER or anything, but it is of course my right thumb...the one I need to type, use my contacts, and pretty much every other important thing in my life. I'm such a baby about it, but it still hurts.

Monday wasn't too crazy. I worked, taught and observed a class. I love being a student and am already looking forward to the classes I want to take next year!

I also spent some time yesterday printing off new motivational quotes for myself. It has been SO helpful to have my motivation, inspiration and goals posted around my apartment and office. I have also been pretty open with people that I'm trying to make changes. Although I worry about letting someone down, I really hope it will continue to encourage and support me in this journey.

This week's goal is to get into the gym four times and maintain my healthy food choices. This weekend I will start the next phase, which is actually measuring everything out. I know that having a salad with lowfat dressing is healthier than a grilled cheese, but I have to get better about measuring exactly how much dressing and everything. I'm probably not estimating correctly, but I think my habits are becoming more consistent and it's time to start really measuring everything.

So, that's my next step. Right now I feel like I'm eating all the time, but I'm rarely hitting my calorie range, I seem to always be a few hundred calories too low. I know that this can be bad for my metabolism, but I am not sure how to get more food into my day. This dilemma will have to be solved another day. I'm off to work.

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy Tuesday!
