Been having physical therapy (PT) 3 times a week since the end of December. Friday they over stretched my shoulder(went from 140 degree ROM to 160 ROM from Wed to Fri) and I have been in lots of pain since. Went to PT today and there was a huge knot next to and going under my shoulder blade on the surgical shoulder. After examining me they massaged the muscle at my shoulder blade after hot packs and mild stretching and had to follow the muscle partially under my shoulder blade to get it all. (This probably sounds worse than it actually was) Needless to say, there was a lot of pain during that process. Good thing my back was to him or I might have hit him. Deep muscle massage is very painful to begin with - I've had it before but it always works well in the end. He immediately did E-Stem and iced my entire shoulder and bicep area and did no other therapy. I sure didn't get much sleep over the weekend.

I've noticed the last two days I have been extreemly hungry though - - I'm sure my mind/body is calling for comfort food. I'm trying not to eat too many of the wrong things. The Prednisone my family dr put me on this past week (1 week's dosing plus double shoton Wednesday) is helping the hunger any either.

Either way, I'll just keep icing my shoulder/back/arm and trying not to eat too many of the wrong foods; however, I must remember to forgive myself and move on - tomorrow is another day.

Prednisone can increase appetite and play with your emotions. Hang on and be of good faith, things will get better. Smile. :-) ;-)
