Water logged

Monday, January 28, 2013

Sometimes I drink so much water that I feel like I'm water logged. I know that water is good for me, but sometimes I want to drink something else. I'd like to drink something with some flavor. Do the flavored, carbonated drinks count as water?

You can flavor water yourself as well using lemon, lime, cucumber, mint. I love warm lemon water!

I count them for sure. Especially if it helps me not snack and that is a HUGE part of sparkpeople- before you eat, try drinking water

Have you tried adding fresh lemon or lime juice to your water? Lime is my favorite. On Sundays I buy a bottle of Kiwi Strawberry Auquafina. I also like the mixed berry. Hot herbal tea also counts as water (up to 2 cups, I think). I drink my limit of hot herbal tea in the winter months, especially on those days when the Spark Menu has no hot food on it!

If you are struggling with it, then I'd suggest that flavored water is the way to go. But I've found that if you switch to plain water and make it your drink of choice that you may soon reprogram your taste buds. I used to be a sweet tea drinker (before that I was a Mtn. Dew addict!) Now both sound outrageous to me. Like anything else, once you MAKE it a habit, you'll body will adjust and so will your mind. But everyone has to chose their own path, and choose the one that works for them!

I hope this might help: If you aren't opposed to shopping at Walmart, there is a great option called Great Value! They have some drink mix flavors and at 5 calories per serving (which goes in one water bottle), I think its perfect, but that is just me. Great Value is similar to Crystal Light and in my opinion is just as good.
