5k Training: Week 4, Day 1

Well, I am very glad I decided to increase my walking speed and incline last week. It was difficult, but it went very well.
Today was really hard. I really struggled running for 3 continuous minutes. It was extremely hard on my legs, heart, and lungs. I ended up only being able to do 4 of the 5 intervals before I started to feel sick (although that could be because my monthly visitor arrived in the middle of the workout), so I finished out the last 5 minutes by walking at 4 mph (versus 3.5).
This struggle was discouraging, but hopefully I'll be feeling better on Wednesday. And of course as long as I don't give up my body will improve and I will be able to get though a workout. I have two weeks to get used to this interval, then a whole third week to adjust to a one minute recovery with the three minutes of running before I have to increase to more running. That's just what I need to keep telling myself. The struggle is discouraging, but I can do it.
