Exodus 20:14
"You shall not commit adultery.

Matthew 5:27,28
"You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY ';
but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Hello guys and gals.
I had a good day yesterday, but as for my son Asher he was sick. At 3:00 am my wife took him to the ER with a 104 temperature. They told her it was viral and there was not much we could do about it. At 4:30 pm he had a 104.5 temperature and we called his pediatrician and the nurse gave us some instructions to bring his temp. down. The doctor wants to see him this morning at 8:30 am and I will not be able to go with him, due to my schedule. He has been sick on and off for the last couple months, I think it was since he got the croup. Please pray for him, I don't want him to be sick anymore.

I had a great time in the house of the Lord. Although I had a hard time staying awake during the Pastor's message. Pastor was joking with me about it a little, but I am thankful to have a Pastor who understands my schedule. His message in the morning was about asking God to renew our mind, in order to help quit doing the same sins over and over. The evening service was great as well. I could feel the Holy Spirit there. Worship was longer than usual, which is always awesome. I know God was working in a mighty way there last night and he helped some people to know they was not alone. Pastor's message was about praying and asking God for wisdom and revelation, to get to know God better. Thank you Pastor for the messages I really needed them today.

Commandment #6 "You shall not commit adultery." To clear up any question on what adultery is, here is the definition: voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse. Jesus didn't just acknowledge this commandment he expanded on it in Matthew. Jesus was giving a sermon on the mount, and he said ""You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY '; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Look at the definition of lust: Intense or unrestrained sexual craving. When does looking at someone become lust? I think that is the key question. Just to look at someone is not lusting, but when we put a emphasis on a specific feature, or think of immoral things, and hold those thoughts in our minds and use the thought to please a desire, then that becomes lust. We are created in God's image and we are all beautiful, just like snow capped mountains in the distance, or a sandy beach. I have caught myself looking at those images because they are beautiful sights, but I don't think immorally about them. Just because we look at a person and think that they are beautiful, I do not think that is lust. I believe that the initial thought is not sinning, but what we do with that thought. We need to recognize that these thoughts happen, we are human after all. What we should do when they arise is surrender them to God.

Lord God in Heaven, thank You for Your guidance and wisdom. Lord, thank You for sending Jesus as a light unto the world and our savior. Lord I ask that you let us be mindful of our thoughts and to learn to keep them in submission to You, and we give You glory and honor for it. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

    I think this is why it is so important to pay attention to what we are looking at. All the filth in the media, movies, tv programs, magazine covers, commercials, news stories...it's like the old adage, "garbage in...garbage out". Admiring the beauty God created is never wrong when God is the focus of our admiration, but when HE ceases to be the focus, it is time to shut our eyes and look away.

    Amen....we must always remember that if the Holy Spirit is to dwell in us we must keep the temple holy....what we do in secret is NOT secret to GOD so what we do is always in the sight of GOD....GOD knows our hearts and knows our minds....you can't fool GOD..before you do or think anything....ask yourself this...would I if Jesus was here with me now? Because JESUS is with you and will HE approve of your actions or thoughts?

    That is how I keep myself in check....I know Abba is watching me..
