Last evening, I had the pleasure of having a wonderful dinner prepared my sister who was here for a visit. Her reason for the visit was to see her new grandson, my second great nephew, who is adorable. Her husbands siblings and their children were also in attendance as was one of my sons and my parents. It was truly a nice way to spend a cold Saturday evening. I was absolutely amazed when my brother-in-law's middle sister walked in the door. We have a history of a friendship which ended abruptly several years ago. I'm still not sure why. Her marriage was in the boots, she finally acknowledged her husband had a drinking problem. Maybe it was the stress in her life. I did ask her once, several years ago, and received a vague answer about her life being in turmoil. I will admit, I was a little peeved as to me, that wasn't really an excuse to cut off a friendship. Anyway, I ramble. She has always been heavy and after having two daughters, she was even heavier. Not morbidly obese, but heavy. Well, last night she walked in to the house and I couldn't believe it was the same person. She looked amazing! (to say the least) And, she has a new man in her life. I did not hesitate to tell her how fantastic she looked. And of course I had to ask her what her secret was. She informed me that was going to Weight Watcher's and still was and she exercised every day. She too is a shift worker. We share the same profession but work in different hospitals. Her new man has been a great motivator for her too. He has helped her with her exercises, especially using tubing. She has a very bad back so weights are out of the question. I am in awe of what she has accomplished. She has shed 100 lbs by making healthier food choices and being active. Now, what couldn't be better motivation that that??
