Yes, I've been complaining a little about the scale this week. One smart Sparker reminded me to go measure myself. Guess what! I'm down a full inch everywhere!

So despite the scale not listening to me, the tape measure tells me a different story. Obviously I'm still doing something right to lose the inch in the hips and waist. My pants have been loose again.

Sometimes muscle is being built while fat is still losing, but the difference in the two is huge when it comes to size. A pound of fat is much bigger than a pound of muscle. Sometimes the two are evening out at the same rate of weight, so sometimes we're seeing inches lost when weight is stable.

As long as you're eating within your ranges and still moving, then you are likely to be building muscle. When you're building muscle, the rate of loss may slow, but your body is still getting stronger. As long as you're incorporating that exercise into your day, your body is changing. You are becoming leaner and more fit than you were.

Next I just need to work on getting the "apple" shape (and anyone looking at my picture may dispute the machine's claim also) away from my mid-section. Apparently a 40 inch waist to a 46 inch hip makes an apple. I'm so close to "avocado".
