I love all the foods that are 'bad' for me or bad for my cholesterol levels. Of course it's difficult to understand that all that good protein comes wrapped up in something bad. Needless to say as I lessen my intake of cholesterol laden foods I am also lessening my intake of much needed protein. This balancing act of eating the right stuff is very time consuming and can be very confusing. The interesting thing is that at my last check up, both my good & bad cholesterol went up and my triglycerides went down. Perhaps my body is just going to over-produce bad cholesterol no matter what I eat or weigh. Fortunately my ratio is great (whatever that means).
Well, off I go to make my husband bacon, eggs and hash browns, and nutritious oatmeal with apple slices for me. Another 6 months of eating low-cholesterol should give the doctor and I some idea of what to do next.
