Making music

Friday, January 25, 2013

Well, sounds, anyway.

Fiddle classes are underway, and I've been doing my homework very diligently at 6:30 or so most mornings. Missed a couple days while the violin was in the shop getting adjusted. I need some strategic callouses and muscle building - my hands are both sore in fresh new ways. Learning feels great, and just seeing what sorts of noises I can make is quite entertaining.

I have a lot of fiddler love for Hanneke Cassel, lately. She makes wonderful music!

My sister is a professional violinist--my brother a professional cellist. I think my sisters CHIN gets sore!

    I am the appreciative audience!

My sister has taught lessons off and on for a long time and once she had a new student who was . . .63 years old . . .had never played any intstument before and she 'wanted to learn' . . .so she did!

Nat do you like bluegrass music? It seems you like ALL kinds of music!

Wishing you wonderful moments with your fiddle!
