Go Figure?!?!

Well, here I am at another glorious Friday! I love Fridays.... end of the work week, movie night for the family, sleep in a little later the next morning, and enjoying the beautiful weekend ahead with my wonderful family. Ahhhhhh... I love it!

Ok, so today is yet another weigh in day for me. Let me back up and give a little visual picture of this past week before I reveal what the scale showed me this morning.

Sunday evening I became sick. Flu like sick. Needless to say, I was out of commission for the first part of the week. Unfortunately, I didn't track everything as I have been doing (or measure foods). I have just been too under the weather to even bother this week. I did continue to drink my water and take my vitamins.

No exercise though as my body hurt by simply turning over in the bed. The flu like symptoms did go away and now I am left with a sore throat, lots of coughing and congestion. Fun stuff!
I have powered through my week despite being sick and actually only took one day off from work.

I must say that my appetite was only affected the night I became sick and then the first full day of being sick. After that, appetite was fine.

Anyway, now back to this morning. I knew that I had not done what I needed to in order to lose some weight. I mean, for the past few weeks I have busted my butt to make sure I do everything possible to help with weight loss only to step on the scales and face disappointment. Soooo, I had NO expectations at all.

Last Friday I showed a weight gain of almost 3 pounds after working super hard to stay on track. Several responded to my post by saying it may have been muscle, but I am realistic. I knew that there was really no way for me to have built any real muscle in only two sessions of walking exercises. Great encouragement that was appreciated, but I don't think it applied to me right now. Maybe at a later time I will be able to say that if I show a weight gain, but not yet. :)

This morning I step on the scales and I show a four pound weight loss. OMG! What?!?! How is this possible??? Of course, I showed a gain last week of almost three, but today I am showing down four. I do not understand because I did NOT do well this week, however, I will take it! Haha!

Despite being confused about this whole weight thing so far, a weight loss this week that was in no way expected was great to see and wonderful motivation for me to get back on track now that I am up and moving again.

So, just a few weeks into this weight loss journey and it is proving to be really crazy. Curious to see what next week will bring. Everyone have a great weekend and best wishes to each of you in your own weight loss adventure!

    Welcome to SP.

    There is no solid way to explain the weight thing. As a woman weight can flucuate 7-10lbs in one day due to hormones, water retention etc.

    Sounds like you are on the right track.
