So I’m getting a little discouraged and even wondering if there’s something physically wrong with me. I started riding my bike in 2008. Since then I have biked everywhere. I even bike just for the fun of it. Through, rain, heat, freezing wind I bike at least 6 days a week. I’m also trying my “hand” at running, I go to the gym; I’ve been cutting out junk food and filling my diet with veggies. Yet, I’m still over 50lbs over-weight. I’ve been bike-commuting the same road five days a week, for over six months and yet, I’m still wheezing after the first half mile. Shouldn’t I be getting stronger, faster, and building up endurance by now? It’s been five years, when is this hard work going to start paying off?

Maybe you are not eating enough. That can derail you. Also, do you use other nonscale methods to track progress? Do your measurements or little physical tests, like how long it takes you to do a certain stretch. I've been at this for seven months and some days it's just as hard as that first day. And at the end of it all, exercising feels great mentally and emotionally.
