Garlic. Leeks. Onion.

Take that, flu! Not that I have the flu, thankfully. But I have a potato leek soup cooking in the crockpot & those are all immune boosting ingredients. Except maybe the potatoes . . . but they're not the villains they're painted as & yes, I love me some taters.
It was supposed to be chili because the temp is struggling to get out of the single digits, but since DH isn't a veggie chili guy I decided to take pity on him. And then there will be more soup for me!
Grief hits in strange moments, like when I wa chopping up the veggies. Simba always came into the kitchen when I was chopping anything because he just assumed it was for him. No, he didn't like onions; his odd tastes didn't extend that far, which is good, because onions aren't good for cats. But he always came. And demanded.
Grief is too strong a word really; now it's just sadness that hits at odd times thru outthe day.
So anyway. Can somebody explain to me why we only seem to have sunny days when it's too damn cold to enjoy them?
What immune boosting foods are you enjoying these days?
