It just keeps getting better…

So after Saturday’s whole fiasco with the plumbing, my furnace has decided that it wants to be stupid. Last night, around 7:30 I thought it was getting a little cold in the house. Rachael goes and checks the thermostat and it said “59 degrees”. WHAT?!? The screen also read “Low Batt”. Ok, so that last one is fixable. We get some batteries and change the batteries in the thermostat.

After the thermostat batteries were changed, it still started to freak out. 59, 54, 57, 62… Ok seriously thermostat make up your mind. We’re not amused. We turn the power to the furnace off, and then back on to reset itself. It works! Yay!

No Yay… It worked for about a second. Then it went back to its old tricks. We call Dad again. Because yes I swear he is our handy man. Why call a real handyman when Dad I’m sure has done it before and can fix it this time?

Dad comes over and he fiddles with the thermostat. Gets the thermostat all straightened out. He goes down to the furnace and finds out that one of the fans was stuck. He gets it unstuck and it works now! Yay! He also showed Rachael how to fix it if it needs to be done again. Hopefully it’s good because we can’t afford a furnace at this moment in time.

After the fun filled weekend, I know we’re both hoping for a less dramatic week. That, for me, has started off at a 5:00 AM wake up and off to the gym. I’m kind of glad that we decided to do that, because I know when we get home, there won’t be time to go to the gym. Rachael’s Mom & Dad, yes that Dad… the handyman, come over for dinner every Tuesday. So once we get home, we start cooking dinner and they are there at about 6, usually staying until about 10 or so.

The plan is more bathroom time. Joy… rapture… I’m so over this bathroom project. I swear it would have gone more smoothly had we just gutted it and started from scratch.
