Minnesota winter is back

Sunday, January 20, 2013

So far this winter hasn;t been too bad, but Saturday we got a reminder that winter is not over yet.
The wind was fierce- we even took down the American flag at work it was whipping so bad.
Then the temps dropped to below zero overnight. Sunday was still cold, but the sun made it feel better. At least the wind wasn't was bad. Hubby went for a walk while I was at work. his new winter jacket was nice and warm, but his legs froze with just blue jeans on.

We ran a few errands after I got off work and then home for the evening. Still cold out there.
So nice to be tucked in and warm on a cold Minnesota winter evening.

Totally agree, and think I am going to tuck myself in early tonight just to get warm -- hard to keep the chill out of the house when it's this cold. i have my electric blanket warming up and I'm getting ready to snuggle under it with my Kindle!

It isn't quite that cold here, but it is definitely still winter.

I see our temps are to be a high of minus 5 tomorrow!! SO GLAD we are in south TX. where it has been cool but nothing like that. It is the 3rd week of Jan. and it always seems to be the coldest week of the year so here you go again, another cold one. We stay in contact with our kids and other family as they are looking after our home there. We do keep the heat on when gone for the winter and that is just the reason!!

Yes, we are in shorts and short sleeves when the temps drop here but we have had highs just barely at 50 for several days so the sweatshirts & jeans did come out for us but many others have their winter coats on!!

Stay as warm as possible up there. We do think of you all many times a day!!

Bob always said the winter he was born in Northern MN, he was so cold, that his brain must have gotten frozen, because he never noticed it again!! But I can see such a difference in him since he moved to FL when we got married. The fist several years he walked around in short sleeves on days that were in the 60's. Now he turns on the heat in the house to at least 74 degrees F.

    Stay warm!!

It was my first Minnesota winter that I first understood the term "cold".
