Before starting my new job, I would weigh myself almost every morning. I was really stuck in a routine of waking up, relaxing for a few minutes, and then weighing myself. No wonder the number on the scale rarely changed!

I am too busy in the mornings now to weigh myself. Plus, with my body still trying to adjust to the early-morning schedule, I know that if I do weigh myself those mornings I probably won't be getting very accurate results. So I've begun to only weigh myself on the weekends.

At the beginning of the year after my 2-week vacation, my weight crept up to 173. Not terrible, only a matter of a couple pounds! Last weekend I was back down to 172. I felt particularly "thin" this morning when I woke up but I wasn't expecting to hit my goal weight of 170!!!

I'm so excited!!! I hit my goal! It's a few weeks late but, you know, life happens and our bodies don't have deadlines.

Now to start my NEW goal. I would like to lose an additional 20 pounds this year to get down to 150, my "ideal" weight. (I would also be happy with 155 but let's go for the gold!)

Until March, I will be happy if all I do is maintain my weight. The reason for this is because the weather has been not so great, which makes it difficult to run sometimes. I've been a trooper lately though--running in the freezing rain, slushy mess of snow and ice, and freezing temperatures. For now I'm going to keep my regular running schedule of running 10 miles a week. I'll start training for my 10K at the beginning of March! That gives me two whole months to train. Then the weight will continue to fall off!!
