One week AFTER Detox

I wanted to update since it's been 8 days since I ended my Dr Oz 3 day smoothie detox program. Here's what happened, the 4lbs I lost, those came back, all but 1.5. Figured it would happen, still sad to see though, lol. Day 1 I thought I'd really be ready to CHEW, however, wasn't much of a big deal to be able to chew food or to even eat "solids" again. In fact, I missed the smoothies, so I've been continuing to have them, and variations of them with protein added, the last week, not every day, but most. It really does FILL me UP! I miss that, now when I'm eating meals again, I notice I have more cravings and just want to snack have been adjusting my eating schedules a bit to see what will work. I like the idea of having a huge smoothie in the morning (250-300ish cals) and then just skipping my morning snack.

Health-wise, I don't feel like it helped at all though. I felt just as energetic before, during and after the detox. My skin and hair, the same. Although it did FEEL good to take care of ME for a few days, so to speak. I did lose 4 inches in various places, last I measured I gained about half that back, as the weight.

I guess my over-all consensus for ME, is that I didn't NEED a detox. Yes, I ate a bunch of junk food over the holidays, but right after I started my healthy eating again, and all last year up until then I ate very healthy. Well, even going back to when I started spark, my eating is not perfect, but it's pretty darn good if I don't say so myself. I really have cut out a lot of junk and replaced with healthy fat, fiber, proteins and lots more fruits and veggies- and NEW ones as well. Anyway, it was fun to do, to try it and challenge myself, but I'm not sure I'd necessarily do it again. Will I incorporate more smoothies- ESP green ones in my diet? I most certainly will and have been! THAT I will stick to and am happy to have new green recipes I like! Not sure I'd need to do a liquid only diet though again for 3 days!

Perhaps the detox would be better for someone starting a diet, who needs a challenge, and more of a detox, and change of tastes for their palates!

    A smoothie in the morning sounds good. Glad you got something positive out of it, even if you gained the weight back.
