I went to a intuitive yesterday, complain of being VERY dry. My hair, & especially my sinuous are very DRY. I live in the SW. We have temps of below 27! Right now. (Highs get up to 115 during the summer) Hummity of about 7. She suggested I get more vitamin e, (I already take a supplement & had to back down a little because it caused heart palpitations, this was years ago) She also said I need more protein. I told her I get about 60-90 a day & she said my body is not absorbing it! WOW! I try to 'mix up' my nuts, but almonds are THE one, for me! I eat allot of egg whites (3 times a week), & maybe 1 egg a week, lot's of chicken. I wish I liked fish more! (2 times a month) But I am taking 2,000 units of fish oil, daily! Cottage cheese & yogurt are my staples, (non & low fat)

I guess I do not know what foods to eat with protein to absorb it. I eat ALLOT of leafy greens, fruits & try to eat fresh many times a day. I REALLY feel I am eating pretty great! My carobs come in the form of fruits & veggies. My grain source is oatmeal, sprouted breads & low fat popcorn. Maybe 1 teaspoon of olive oil 3 times a week. Wole wheat buns if I have a turkey burger, but only 1/2 at a time.

I get an average of 100 minutes of exercise a day or more. Maybe all this ZUMBA is eating up my protein. I am down a few ounces, today! 4 pounds to goal. So with all the vast info in Sparkland, I thought I would ask my VERY knowlegeable SFriends for their suggestions. I wonder how Vegans get their vits.?

Life is GREAT right now, as I figure out how to workout indoors. I'm going swimming in the new public pool today, it has been weeks! (Yes! The pool has chlorine, I slick my hair with olive oil, under my swim cap PLUS, my entire body gets coconut oil slathered all over me, I feel pretty protected) Sweet LUCY pup is having a hard time, I can't take her out when it is this cold! BUT it IS suppose to warm up to 50 today, so I'll take her out during the hottest part of the day for a short time. When she gets to cold she gives me 'the look' to go home. She is SO cute!

    Interesting that they say you are not absorbing the protein in your diet. Do you workout after or before eating? I t is easy to focus on macronutrients sometimes and forget they are not complete without micronutrients to carry things through the body. Definitely read into it more. I would suggest taking a food supplement like (my favorite) Vitamineral Greens from HealthForce. Good stuff ;-)! Keep us posted on how this protein thing goes for you!

    sure sounds like you are eating well and getting enough protein. I think I have a simalar problem. I do eat egg whites just about everyday. Here is a link I found that list the top 10 protein foods. Hope it helps.

    You are looking MOST splendid! I don't really know that much about protein absorption...maybe just google it...or check out Dr. Oz's site...he always has the BEST advise! Stay sparky my friend. How about a coat and booties for Lucy dog? It's SO busy now at the gallery...but it's all good! emoticon
