Started the day as Debbie Downer, ended as Grateful Gertie

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

The day started early with my truck not starting so had to jump start it. Went to the post office to mail a couple of letters----they were closed---didn't open until noon..this was at 9 AM---so came home, shut the truck off fully expecting it to start later. It DIDN"T!!!

Called a daughter....they came down and jump started it again for me. Went into town (10 miles away), filled the truck with fuel (it's diesel) while it was running, paid my insurance payment, stopped at Auto Zone and had them check the batteries (it has 2). One battery was completely shot. Since it was a Walmart battery and still under warranty, I took the truck there. They checked the battery and agreed it was completely shot. Well, I had told them to let me know about the battery before they put a new one in...they didn't---they went ahead and installed a new battery and then tried to charge me $118. When I objected and said it was under warranty, they then decided that I didn't owe anything. So I got a new battery free--no way was I going to pay that much for a Walmart battery when I could go down the street and get a much better one for less than 10 dollars more. So now I'm stuck with a Walmart battery for 3 more years......UGH!!!

On the good side----after getting the new battery, I was able to go to the hospital for my first try on the exercise equipment----did 15 minutes on the Nu Step and 6 minutes on the recumbent bike. I was told that was good for the first time.

Then worked 4 hours rearranging books and Bible study material in the library and checking in Sunday School material.....guess I got my exercise today....I will stop back at the hospital after TOPS tomorrow for another exercise session. That Nu Step is fantastic. It is a recumbent pressure on the knees but works both the arms and legs...would love to have one at home but don't have room for one right now.

Anyway that was my day..........

My day started with no water and hubby is in Montana, thankfully dd was home so that I didn't have to go through the deep snow with my hurt ankle/foot. She put in a new heater and it was on in less then an hour. Funny as we have had colder days, hubby said it was just too many cold ones in a row and not warming up during the day.

Then lots of telemarketing calls after I tried to get more sleep. Haven't figure out why they can still call when I am on the do not call list.

At least you kept it together. Good for you.

don't worry about the battery ... we also had a bad one once from them but they made no hassle with the warranty .... we haven't had any problems with others during the last 15 years .... but they should have automatically given you credit ... that was not very good customer service for sure .... I always look at the bright side ... you were at home safe and sound when it wouldn't work .... how blessed you are !! have another great day ! Roc
