Emotion versus Intelligence

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Lately I've been in a battle between my two selves: Ms. Emotion versus Ms. Intelligence. I love it when Ms. I wins. And just by her very nature, shouldn't she always? After all, she is the smart one. But she doesn't and that brownie, candy bar, licorice whip, etc. feeds Ms. E and makes her day.

Ms. I then says okay. We can exercise this off. No problem. It is just a few extra calories after all. And then the meeting runs late, no time for noon exercise. Something a little off at home, no time for evening exercise. Need the sleep, no time for morning exercise. Okay, fine and dandy for today. But this will not be an acceptable practice.

So today, no extra goodies. Not that exercise gives me the "right" to eat a bit more, but Ms. I uses that as a rationale. She is the smart one after all. Or so she thinks.

Today I will balance my emotions and my intelligence to have a balanced day in all respects.

I had to laugh with you about your blog. I have been having the same type closed circuit replays also.

Balance is key here and I struggle with it also. I think our staying aware of the conversation will allow us to guide the direction more often.

Thanks for externalizing your battle. It clarified mine more for me. Also, nice to know I am not the only one that carries on such solo conversations!
