Week 3 - BLC21 - Goals and Struggles

This is the start of the next Biggest Loser Round. Below are my starting stats.

BLC21 Weight Loss Goal: 6.6lbs (145lbs)
Height (without shoes): 5' 6"

Chest: 36.5
Bicep: 11.75 (R Arm)
Waist: 33
Hips: 36.5
Thigh: 21.75 (right)

I'm giving myself 12 weeks to get to my ultimate goal. I can tell that it's going to take some work. By work, I mean me putting in the work to go there. I know that if I trust the process that it will work. The problem is me trusting. Me believing that I'm worth all of the effort that I have to put in to it.

I know that I won't get to goal if I don't get this snacking under control. At this point, every BLT really adds up and can derail my progress. So this week I'm going to really research some low calorie, high density foods that I can snack on that will leave me feeling satisfied between meals. It's really hard because the usual snacks of yogurt, cheese stick or even a boiled egg that I would normally reach for are off limits for me and I really don't care for their non-dairy alternatives. Maybe I need to redefine my definition of what a snack is. Who says I can't have a 3-4oz piece of chicken as a snack or 1 slice of bread with 1T of almond butter.

    I like a small amount of canned chicken (like tuna) with some avocado mixed in like mayo - so yummy. I do an apple with almond butter a lot. I also eat a lot of my meals in smaller form - a smaller serving of meat with salad or smaller serving of dinner leftovers. You are doing great!

    I love the idea of frequent meals, as opposed to having snacks. I've used a sandwich as a "snack" in the past.

    Your doing fabulous Leah! I now you are going to get to goal! I believe in you because you believe in yourself! I love eating hummus and carrots, apples, yogurt, fruit with enough milk blended to have a consistency of ice cream are my go to snacks.

    You have a great plan! As far as snacks go, you're is time to expand the definition of snack. I like to have a slice of whole grain bread with 1tbs of nutella or almond butter. I also like a tortilla with lettuce, tomato and avocado and maybe even some type of left over meat.

    My current favorite snack foods:

    - Celery or carrots with chipotle pepper hummus from Trader Joe's
    - Banana with Maple Almond Butter
    - Edamame (raw soybeans, that are steamed)

    All have a decent amount of fiber and protein, which works well for me!

    I love your idea of thinking outside the box when it comes to snacks! My current go to snack is raw, roasted cashews and coconut flakes (natural, unsweetened). I love eating things that go "crunch."

    Good plan Leah! You can definitely do it! My "healthy" snack foods are protein shakes, almonds, walnuts, apples, bananas, grapefruit. 2 oz of meat is a great snack, it will definitely cut cravings and keep you snack could be a mini meal.
