Today's Positives:

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

In keeping with my positive attitude. I have been doing things that I have never done before :)

I've started eating oatmeal with flaxseed. I never ate oatmeal or vegetables for that matter because my mother never liked it or vegetables so we never really had any. She always said that they tasted awful. It just goes to show how our parents do influence what we eat.

I've also started drinking 8 oz of 1% milk a day. Again, my mother really never gave us milk as she didn't like it. I remember, as a kid, I only drank chocolate milk. Never realized how fattening that really was.

I have gotten in the habit of walking a mile at night when I'm home. This is above and beyond my regular workout. I walked through the challenge and the weigh in of The Biggest Loser last night. I always feel that as long as I am moving, I am doing something positive. I do this 3 - 5 nights a week.

I have also stopped arguing with my son. I have gone rounds with him for years. He is going to have to step up to the plate and act like the young adult he is supposed to be, or he is not going to Vegas. He needs to apologize for swearing at me and throwing up his middle fingers at me on Saturday. Normally, I keep coaxing him into an apology or I just forget it. He has now been without a tv and only allowed to drive to home depot to get something for the house. He needs to learn to man up.

I have become much more picky in the leads I have been taking. I used to take them all because I needed the work. Now, I take the ones I want to take. I got 25 calls today with leads. I took 2.

It's amazing how you can change things in your life without even realizing you have done it! emoticon

Sounds like you are doing great.

I don't know how old your son is,
but having been there I can say they grow out of this awful stage
and they become wonderful loving adults.
You just have to pray you live long enough LOL

Good show! I just started reading the book: THE POWER OF HABIT looking for ideas on ways to most effectively change some of my own. I think this is impressive behavior on your part. Also - you are right about your son needing to act like a young adult and show a bit of respect and restraint. If he wants to be treated as an adult, that requires that he act as an adult.
