    As far as eating the minimum, if you do not eat enough, your body will go into starvation mode, meaning that you are defeating the purpose. Low carb, high protein is best.. I use 50 calorie mozzarella cheese sticks for my go-to snack. High in protein, low fat,, with my diabetes,it really helps when I get a reaction, but also keeps my tummy satisfied between meals..
    I think dancing is a great idea!!!!!!!!

    On your calories being lower than your lowest figure is probably not a good thing because for me I tend to devour food the next day... but good job anyway, and especially because you're not hungry!!
    Working out should be a no brainer for you. Pull your lovely wife off that couch and walk outside, your backyard, maybe just stand in place for 5-10 minutes at a time and march in place as you watch TV. Keeps your mind off of what you're doing.
    Wait...better idea! You and your wife put on some good music and dance... slow or fast in your own living room just "MOVE".... emoticon

    You are headed in the right direction. You have a positive attitude which is great. On the down side you should at least get to the minimum in your calorie range. Plus make sure you are getting the right amount of carbs, fats and protein.Also try out the 10 min videos on sparkpeople, it is amazing how easy they can be. When I first started I had all I could do to complete 1 video. It does get easier as you go along. Good luck, You can do it!!!!
