A little bump...

Monday, January 14, 2013

My sister and two of her daughters flew in to spend three days with us this past week.

1. I love them dearly, and haven't seen them since Mom passed away last spring
2. We all love to cook and one of them is a chef
3. I'm the only one with a weight issue that ISN'T weighing too little

My hard-charging resolve came to a screeching halt and I found myself eating at least some of the time the OLD way...a bump in the road of my weight loss journey. The good news is that at least part of the time I ate mindfully, appropriately, and sparingly, and that's new!

Anyway, back "on program" today without beating myself up (also new) and looking forward to a good week.

A chef in the family! That could be good and could be bad! Depending on what they are cooking! A lifestyle change takes awhile, it doesn't happen overnight. It is great you are making those changes and not giving up! That is the key to just keep going, despite those bumps in the road-they will happen. I know the feeling though, it is so easy to slip back into old habits! It took me over a year to finally get off the habit of reaching for junk good when I wanted it! So hang in there! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm glad you got to see your family!
Look at it this way, you didn't spend the WHOLE time eating like you used to.

Take heart. You recognized what you did and are now ready to get back on track. Life happens and there will always be events and occasions to derail us. Getting back on track right away is the important part. Love yourself! You deserve it.
