I'm annoyed

Monday, January 14, 2013

I thought I should start blogging more, so here goes.

I joined the January Jumpstart Challenge and really just can't get into it. I'm at least a week behind. I did try and catch up and did three videos on Saturday. I usually really love these boot camp type things and I try and do the videos when I get home but lately I keep forgetting.

Last week I met my calories burned goal and burned 1537 calories for the week. That doesn't take into account the two yoga classes either (I know yoga isn't cardio and isn't strength, but I'm not just sitting around either). I did really great on my calories, only went over one day, and it was only 100+ calories. I'm tired and my body hurts, but that's okay.

I'm annoyed because my scale says that I'm up 2 lbs from last week? WTF? emoticon
I don't really think it's true, but it's still annoying. See, I'm 2 lbs away from goal and that mysterious 2 lbs puts me 4 lbs from goal, which I don't like. I know it sound petty, but I'd just really like to get to goal. I'm so close.

I'm just venting.

It IS annoying when you're near perfect with the diet and fitness and the scale goes up! But on the bright side it's likely just water retention which will go away on it's own... just keep doing what you're doing. Give yourself a week, those 2 pounds will probably be gone along with the last 2 and it will be mission accomplished! You're on the right track and almost there! emoticon

Been there, done that. I now go more by how my clothes fit than what the scales say. When the jeans fit better, but the scales go up...I celebrate the jeans.

I know it gets really frustrating. You work out more maybe add some strength training and then the scale creeps up a couple of pounds. I've been there and it's so UGHHHH! I know muscle weighs more than fat, but that scale can play games with my head.

At my age I need all the "lift" I can get! I see some definition, but then the saggy skin kind of takes away from it! emoticon Keep at it because emoticon !

Go ahead and vent, sister! My body is a roller coaster. I can lose 5#s a week and regain them the next. Maybe water retention? Have you been sick lately? Just please hang in there and keep on keeping on--your exercise is great!

I read the other day that asparagus helps reduce water retention. Maybe add to your dinner and see if the 2 lbs comes off. :) too bad it doesn't work for the 4 lbs to get you to goal :)

You are so close... hang in there!!

Seriously, if I ever knew why my body bounced up and down that scale (besides when I overeat or eat a lot of salt- then it's easy to know why)....

Keep at it- you're almost there!

Grrrr! I hate it when these things happen! I've never been that close to my ultimate goal--only mini-goals--so I'm sure you're level of frustration is even higher! The only advice I have is good things come to those who wait--I know: cliche and not very consoling! Sorry, it's all I've got! :)

Best of luck to you and if you've made it this far, the 2# weight gain is a mere speed bump in your overall progress!

Maybe all that working out put more muscle mass on you which you know muscle is heavier. I don't think you really gained any weight. You sound like you are doing awesome emoticon
