Project Freshman Fifteen is off to a great start. I'm not certain (I used a different scale than usual, just to get a rough estimate), but I think I lost 2 pounds this week! Wow.

It was a week of mostly cardio. I went to the gym Monday - Saturday and burned around 500 calories a day, give or take. I coupled this with lower calorie intake (i.e. actually measuring out my portions and not mindlessly snacking).

But what's the best part? The fact that I can and DID resist desserts in the servery (and elsewhere) this week! We had an early birthday celebration with some friends, and I had a bite of cookie cake...and that was seriously it. I also had half a piece of hummingbird cake during Friday lunch, but I enjoyed it and didn't guilt trip myself into eating more. I had a cupcake on my birthday on Saturday, and a piece of cookie...but that's all I needed.

That's the thing - now that I'm focused, I see that I really am more capable than I thought. It's still a battle, but I just keep reminding myself that I love myself and my health more than any pasta or soda or sugary treat that gets thrown my way.

I'll update later with an official weight verdict later! Until then...gotta catch some sleep if I want to be fresh for working out! :)

EDIT: Actually, guys...the scale said 126.2! I'm thinking some of it was just water weight and bloat, but still - I feel so much better.
