I got out my aerogarden and planted some herbs ... the seedlings are beginning to grow. It's so nice to have the bright light near my desk in the winter to add some sunshine to the day!
I mentioned last week that I decided to follow a blog called Apartment Therapy to do the January Cure.
Each day a task is set and I've been following through with the tasks and getting things done I never would have. I've really churned things up in here ... and have to remember it's going to get worse before it gets better. It's helped me get unstuck as far as solving issues in and around my home are concerned. I went through boxes I'd hidden away - thinking ' out of sight - out of mind that I'd shut away a few years ago - that felt good. I just kept what was relevant and tossed a lot away. YAY.
I have been to Ikea twice now to pick up shelves and a table that I'll be putting together on my next day off. This weekend was about cleaning the kitchen and so I went through the fridge and freezer and washed everything down thoroughly. We were to buy flowers again and have a nice meal. I bought a dozen little white roses and set out three little bouquets around the house and I got a cooked lobster and had half in a salad tonight with a biscotti for dessert. I used the dinner as my incentive to get as much done as I could and it was fun.
I think the big thing I've gained from doing this is a new perspective on how to freshen things up. I really got involved in the process of it and forgot about everything else. Coming downstairs in the morning now surprises me. I think I was so used to having things the same that I no longer saw them anymore. Now I am smiling at all the little switches I've made so far.
I hope everyone has been having some fun and feeling the benefits from making some changes now that 2013 has arrived.
Have a great week. I begin yoga tomorrow! Yikes.
