One Year Later

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Back again. I had to shelve the Sparkpeople goal for most of last year. Unfortunately, my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer last January and passed in December. As most people who have lost their parents know, it is a pain one learns to live with, never fadin entirely, but not always the black abyss of despair. Unfortunately, dealing and coping with that situation, left me with a ten pound gain to carry along with my grief.
Even through most of it, I ran
Until...(completely true, I have the medical bills to back it up)
Cracked a bone in my back trying not to step on a FROG!
Gets worse.
Healed up, started running.
Stepped in a hornets nest while running. Eleven stings on my left leg.
Done? Oh no.
Swelling went down. Started running.
Wait for it...
Torn cartilage in my knee and damage to the ligaments in my ankle. I was run over by a little girl on her bicycle. Don't worry. She's fine.
Last week, I got a membership to a gym. Medics on staff.

Wow. What a rough year. So sorry for the death of your dad, it is a huge loss. I know. I was amazed at your running disasters! Glad you are back on track. emoticon
