Free Day

Yesterday was my free day. I had been thinking in advance about what I wanted to eat on my free day, and since my parents were coming through town on their way south for a few months, I decided on Red Lobster. Unfortunately, there was an hour wait to get a table, and that was too much for the kids. We ended up at a Mexican sort of restaurant instead. In the end, I wasn't able to eat very much because I got heartburn part way through the meal. So in addition to my enchilada, I had a deep fried pickle and a couple of tortilla chips with spicy jalapeno dip. The only other food I ate all day was a few bits of the half pound peanut butter cup my boyfriend got me for Christmas. Today I'm back to the regular program. 5.2 pounds lighter than I was last Monday.
Today is meal planning, grocery, food prep and chore day. So far I've managed to plan the week's meals, make a grocery list, start marinating tonight's chicken and clean out the freezer. I slept late, so my step count is pretty pathetic so far. I've been watching kettlebell swing videos, so I'm going to head downstairs after I write this and give it a shot. Then off to the grocery store.
Bizarre weather here today -- 5 degrees celcius and kind of cloudy and foggy. It's supposed to rain. If the rain holds up, I'll try to get out for a walk later on today. Looks like it's going to start cooling down over the next few days, getting back down to -10 celcius by next weekend. Although the weather forecast is a little bit like predicting the future, so who knows what will happen.
Okay, off to attempt some kettlebell swings. I'll let you know how it goes.
