One step at a time

I am a 42 year old mom who also works outside of the home. I have set diet and fitness goals in the past but I have never considered them lifestyle goals. Today is the first day that I commit to changing my lifestyle. I have to get fit and stay healthy so I can be active with my 10 year old son. I want to have more energy and be a good example to my kid about having healthy habits as a way of life. So instead of keeping a laser focus on my long-term goals, I am going to take it one step at a time on my way to getting fit and staying healthy. Wish me luck! emoticon

    Great way to get started! I like to set monthly goals, so each month I can adjust what I need to do to accomplish my bigger goals. One thing I love about SP is that it is about lifestyle goals; it is a bigger picture than just dieting.

    That is a perfect way to look at this. It is not a race, but a one step at a time, one day at a time journey. But you are right that you must look at it as a life style change because you can never go back to the eating habits that got us here in the first place.
